Isotopic characteristics of particulate matter in the Chihuahua valley
Main Article Content
Abstract
Levels of 137Cs and 7Be in aerosols and silts have been measured in region of Chihuahua City during a short period: May to September 2005 with verifications in 2007. 137Cs showed the same seasonal trend as 7Be. The 137Cs/7Be ratio obtained Cienfuegos, Cuba and Chihuahua in this period was used to calibrate the long-terms database of 137Cs recorded in Cienfuegos. The data base was then employed to obtain a simple expression which permits reconstruct the 137Cs monthly concentration in Chihuahua since 1957, after studies of the behavior of both isotopes in the air and the silt of seven collection points of the City of Chihuahua. Results of modeling of contents for both isotopes in the city of Chihuahua are show too.
