Abstract
In the sustainability evaluation, the society shows a series of changes that can be known through the appreciation of the environmental problems through times and space. Thereto, a mechanism was applied to evaluate the environmental perception of the students of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, taken into account 17 variables and environmental indicators. These variables and indicators were grouped into social dimensions, economic and environmental factors. When the contingency tables were applied, there were perceptual differences and similarities in some of the variables and environmental indicators evaluated in the students from four Academic Units: from Health Sciences, Engineering, Socio-administration, Animal and Agricultural Sciences. Just social dimension had significant associations inside the variables of environmental education (P≤0.015) and housing (P≥0.087). Information gathered from the results can be used to implement an educational program for a sustainable development within the University.
