Photocatalytics degradations of BTX on the air whit TiO2/ glass fiber in continuos reactor
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work the heterogeneous photocatalysis gas-solid was used in a continuous tubular reactor for the degradation of benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX) using TiO2 supported in glass fiber too TiO2-Pt/glass fiber and synthesized by the method sol-gel starting from titanium butóxide like precursor and to the 2-propanol like pay. The xerogel to impregnate in the glass fiber that later on was roasted 550°C by 3.5 hours. The final content of TiO2 was of 0.006 gg-1 glass fiber. The catalyst was characterized for DRX, TPD of ammonia, analysis thermogravimetrics, TGA-DTA, BET, diffuse reflectance and SEM. The catalyst was proven among 50 to 150 m ml min-1., and of 40 to 140°C, to pressures of 0.5 to 10 column cm dilutes, with the purpose of comparing their reactivity. The photodegradation you carries out in a reactor of glass pyrex of 20 cm of longitude and 1.9 cm of internal diameter. The photocatalytics whit light UV emitted by two lamps of 25 W. It was obtained degradations until of 62 % for the case of the toluene, 54 % for the benzene and 30 % for the xylene to ambient temperature, being observed even bigger degradations to flows of 50 mlmin-1 and temperatures between 80 and 100° C. The TiO2 degrades toward CO2 in more extention to the toluene.
