Administration of the atmospheric contamination in the north coast of the Habana
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the north coast of Havana it happen events of atmospheric contamination provoked by the geologic favourable environment to the activity of exploration of petroleum and gas, which has gone being increased in the last years, and although it has left reinforcing the environmental protection, the results are still insufficient.
Among the most serious problems that contribute to the deterioration of the atmospheric conditions, they are the emissions of SO2 and SH2 to the atmosphere product of it burns it in non appropriate facilities of the accompanying gas that takes place during the extraction of petroleum due to the insufficient use of this gas, as well as the direct emanations of these gases during the gathering process, transport and storage.
This work has as objective the study of the behaviour of the atmospheric contamination of the area in the last 5 years and the analysis of the execution of the norms and regulations with a view to checking if the environmental management of the oil activity in the region is appropriated.
The concentration levels of SH2 are associated to the production activity in the place, particularly to the staunchness of the storage tanks of crude oil. The levels of concentration of SO2 in all the points are associated to the emissions of the flares located in the collector centres of Puerto Escondido and Canasí, and to the emissions of CTE Havana and Antonio Guiteras, being their concentration levels in function of the direction and speed of the winds.
