Abstract

One of the current problems of health concerning the population of the valleys of Tabalaopa, Aldama and Sierra del Cuervo in Chihuahua surroundings, is contamination by arsenic in the aquifer from which provides drinking and agricultural water wells. Affine visualize the dynamics of arsenic in the Valley, identified as levels in the surface sound system and the underground liquid phase of the Tabalaopa-Aldama-Laguna de Hormigas aquifers with the aim of proposing a conceptual model of the functioning of the hydrosystem. The methodology applied was the analysis of the levels of concentration of the toxic in the aquifer, rocks, sediments and soil and its geographic location of sampling in the landscape points. The results show that geological area component consisting of rocks riolithics mountains and major scarps has higher content of arsenic; followed by the hills and minor scarps, soils and sediment and valleys surrounding the main channels. In the central areas wells water and South of the Valley, the analysis revealed nine wells with concentration levels above of 0.025 mg As l-1 and nine wells between 0.021 and 0.025 mg As l-1, superior or very close to the permissible by standard NOM-127-SSAI-1994, indicating a distribution linked to the flows of the aquifer, the presence of the element lithic areas, and type the landscape ryolithics sediments and hydro-thermal aquifer in the southern region behavior pattern upper limit values. The results highlight the vulnerability of people to the risk of toxicity by intake of water contaminated with wells in the region as if preventive measures are not taken.
