Characterization of Acacia mangium Willd sawdust for producing biochar
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work was performed in order to characterize the Acacia mangium Willd sawdust for producing biochar, a variant to consider improving chemical and physical properties of soils. This will cut down ten trees in young plantations of the species under study belong to a forestal company. Analysis was performed immediately and elemental and chemical composition of macrocomponents. Thermogravimetric analysis allowed selecting the temperature range, 270-500 ° C, shown to be the region of maximum biomass decomposition attributable to its main components, lignin, cellulose and hemicelluloses. To this interval and heating rates 5 y 15 oC min-1 the influence of these variables yields maximum biochar indicated for the lower temperatures and faster heating to elevated temperatures and was not significant heating rate. The infrared spectrum showed the transformation of biomass.
