Clarification of the creek water Hueleque of Poza Rica, Veracruz, using Lime, Aluminum Sulfate and Aluminum Chlorohydrate
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper deals with the clarification of the stream water Hueleque city of Poza Rica de Hidalgo, Veracruz by lime, aluminum sulfate and aluminum chlorohydrate, the first two are the most commonly used to treat wastewater and to date are still used in treatment plants and the second is a new generation of polymeric clarifiers; parameters such as: pH, temperature, turbidity, salinity, total dissolved solids, conductivity, as well as dissolved oxygen (OD), biochemical oxygen demand (DBO5), chemical oxygen demand (DQO) and fecal coliforms. For CaO as coagulant was observed that the lower turbidity was at a concentration of 3.000 ppm and clarification is not yet complete, the recorded value is of 9.31 NTU with a pH of 9.61, temperature 26 °C, conductivity 562 μS cm-1, 0.3% salinity, total dissolved solids of 272 ppm. The Al2(SO4)3 the optimal concentration of the waste water is 400 ppm with a pH of 6.99, temperature 26 °C, conductivity 874 μS cm-1, 0.4% salinity, total dissolved solids of 456 ppm, OD of 1.82 ppm, 15 ppm DBO5, DQO of 33 ppm, 9000 CFU/100 ml for total coliforms, which shows that it is an expensive process. The concentration of flocculation with Al2(OH)5Cl2*5H2O is very small (1 ppm), very effective and efficient achievement as remove all the matter present in wastewater obtained a turbidity of 0 NTU in less time, with pH of 7.24, temperature 26 °C, conductivity 958 μS cm-1, 0.5% salinity, total dissolved solids of 456 ppm, OD of 2.22 ppm, 8 ppm DBO5, DQO of 18 ppm and 1800 CFU/100 ml of coliforms total. CaO flocculant has very low activity with a very high amount thereof. In the case of Al2(SO4)3, it was observed that the flocculating activity is good, but large quantities are required. For Al2(OH)5Cl2*5H2O showed to have a very good flocculating activity because the optimal amounts for treatment are very low.
