Affectation of concentration of seawater, by spills form desalinization plan in Sonora
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research took place in the coast of Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. In the process, 11 sites were sampled, at surface, 1 and 5 m depth when possible, gathering a total of 38 samples. The main purpose of the study is to determine if the spills of desalinization plants located on the place, mostly brine, have a straight effect in the concentration of TDS in the involved seawater. The samples were analyzed with an electronic meter which measures a wide variety of physicochemical parameters, such as TDS, electrical conductivity, DO, temperature (T °C) and pH. The results of the study show that the concentration of TDS on the seawater of the coast of Puerto Peñasco is not directly affected by desalinization spills, because of the ideal dispersion that the brine has on the water of the zone.
